Case No. #1520
Bolivia, Tunupa Mountain: 'Shadow of the Night Sky' Electromagnetic Anomaly Incident
Summary
In the early hours of September 18, 2023, a gigantic luminous object exhibiting an erratic flight pattern was observed multiple times over the high-altitude salt flats near Bolivia's Tunupa Mountain. This object flew silently at an altitude of approximately 6,000 meters, and temporary electromagnetic disturbances were recorded beneath its path. While local residents recount ancient legends of 'shadows crossing the sky,' this incident presents new characteristics distinct from past records. Authorities cannot explain it as a conventional aircraft or meteorological phenomenon and do not rule out biological possibilities. The true nature of this phenomenon remains unknown.
Details
At 2:14 AM on September 18, 2023, a private observation facility located at the foot of Bolivia's Tunupa Mountain recorded an anomaly with its night-vision surveillance camera system. A gigantic shadow, accompanied by a faint, widespread luminescence, was captured at an altitude of approximately 6,000 meters, northeast of the observation point at an elevation of about 3,700 meters. This shadow moved at extremely high altitude, almost imperceptible to the naked eye, exhibiting a very slow yet erratic trajectory.
Around the same time, authorities received similar sighting reports from local herders. They speak of ancient Andean legends of 'Achachila Puyu' (Spirit Shadow), referring to enormous 'ghost birds' or 'night eagles' that cross the sky. In recent years, sightings of inexplicable shadows moving at high altitudes have been increasing over the vast night skies of this salt flat region. The harsh natural environment of this area, which restricts regular aerial activity, lends credibility to these sightings.
The observation data recovered by authorities confirmed that the object exhibited behavior where it moved in a straight line for approximately 5 minutes, then abruptly made a sharp turn, and subsequently remained stationary for about 30 seconds. This flight pattern is impossible for known aircraft or drones. Furthermore, directly beneath the object's path, ground-based magnetic sensors and infrasound detectors recorded instantaneous powerful electromagnetic noise and ultra-low frequency vibrations beyond the human auditory range.
Authorities' analysis concluded that this phenomenon does not match any known aircraft, meteorological phenomenon, meteor, or satellite. Of particular concern is that the detected altitude of approximately 6,000 meters represents an extremely harsh environment with thin air and extremely low temperatures, making it an unlikely habitat or flight zone for any known large biological entity. However, the erratic movements displayed by this object, combined with its unique electromagnetic patterns, suggest a sentient entity or an unknown phenomenon operating under principles beyond current physics.
Although the observation facility's cameras had thermal detection capabilities, no distinct thermal signature was detected from the object. Nevertheless, directly below it, wild llamas and alpacas reportedly exhibited abnormal excitement, fleeing in disarray, as reported by residents multiple times. Additionally, some vehicles experienced temporary engine shutdowns and electronic malfunctions during the same period. These effects are not consistent with known flying objects.
This incident strongly suggests the sighting of an unidentified biological entity or the involvement of an unknown physical phenomenon in the Bolivian highlands. Authorities conclude that this 'Shadow of the Night Sky' is an unknown entity that persistently roams at high altitudes, making continuous monitoring and widespread data collection the highest priority for deciphering its ecology and origin. The progression of this incident will hold a crucial key in future UMA research.

Witness Testimony
Witness A (Herdman, 50s)That shadow crossing the night sky was no bird. It was too massive, silent, and only a faint light outlined its form. My sheep suddenly stirred and lay down. It must be the old gods living in our sky, or a creature from another world.
Observation Facility Staff B (30s)The data is clear. Unbelievable changes in velocity at 6,000 meters altitude. And that electromagnetic disturbance. It cannot be explained by any normal flying object. If it's a living creature, it can only be a high-altitude organism with unknown biology.
Kyu's Analysis
Unexplained. Anomalies at high altitudes always take priority. Continuous monitoring of this phenomenon is necessary.
