Details

On July 12, 2023, around 1:30 AM, the first report originated from a village in the Lobe River Basin, East Region of Cameroon. Several residents confirmed a massive shadow slowly moving northwestward across the sky. The shadow obscured the moonlight and was estimated to be tens of meters in diameter. The low-frequency 'wooooon' sound emanating from this shadow was reportedly powerful enough to vibrate house windows.

Over the following week, similar sightings were reported from multiple locations along the Lobe River. All involved nocturnal flights, with the object's afterglow dissipating quickly. Concurrent with these sightings, distinctive traces were discovered in a muddy area approximately 500 meters from the Lobe River. These were asymmetrical, elliptical indentations, about 3 meters wide and 50 centimeters deep. The indentations were scattered at intervals of approximately 10 meters and showed a distinct form, different from known large animal tracks.

Authorities dispatched a field investigation team on July 25. They conducted aerial photography using drones, geological surveys, and acoustic analysis. Soil samples collected from the indentations revealed microscopic organic matter with a specific chemical composition that did not match any known terrestrial biological species. Furthermore, the frequency bandwidth of the resonant sound was extremely wide, with multiple distinct frequencies observed simultaneously.
