At 23:18 on April 15, 2022, a group of university students exploring an abandoned coal mine railway tunnel in the Podpoľanie Region reported sighting an indistinct, luminous humanoid apparition inside the tunnel. Their action camera distinctly captured a translucent, semi-transparent shadow for approximately 5 seconds. The footage also preserved the students' screams of terror and surprise at the sudden, drastic temperature drop observed around them.
Upon receiving the initial report, authorities immediately dispatched investigators to the site. This tunnel, closed in the 1970s, has a local legend of a "ghost train" apparition. While similar, albeit vague, accounts of "something being there" existed sporadically in the past, no concrete evidence had ever been obtained.
