Case No. #1375
Periodic Observation of Silent Luminous Aerial Objects, Accompanied by Sand Vitrification, Electromagnetic Interference, and Temporal Perception Distortion in Egypt's Black Desert
Summary
Since 2019, silent luminous aerial objects have been periodically observed in Egypt's Western Black Desert. This phenomenon causes widespread electronic device malfunction and is accompanied by localized sand vitrification. Witnesses frequently report significant distortions in temporal perception, making the elucidation of the incident extremely challenging. The authorities continue to monitor this peculiar phenomenon and are pressing to identify its underlying mechanism.
Details
On May 12, 2019, a patrol team in the Black Desert spotted a large, silent luminous object passing overhead during their night patrol. Immediately afterward, the team's radios and GPS devices temporarily ceased to function. The luminous object hovered for several minutes before rapidly ascending and disappearing from sight. Following this initial report, similar accounts from the same region began to be submitted periodically.
Initial investigations considered the possibilities of misidentified aircraft or meteorological phenomena. However, the observed luminous objects are consistently silent and exhibit irregular flight patterns, unlike known aircraft. Furthermore, no reactions are detected by air traffic control radar. Multiple witness testimonies describe the objects as spherical, disc-shaped, or amorphous, but all consistently report them as "strongly luminous, white or bluish-white."
Notably, significant physical changes are observed on the ground directly beneath the luminous objects after their appearance. Localized patches of desert sand are found to have melted and formed vitreous lumps. This vitrification is caused by extreme heat, and geological surveys estimate the melting temperature to have reached several thousand degrees Celsius. Yet, surrounding vegetation and rocks show little to no thermal impact.
Moreover, witnesses universally report anomalies in their temporal perception. During the period the luminous object is in sight, several minutes are perceived as hours, or conversely, several hours feel like an instant. While these reports contradict each other, they all deviate from normal temporal progression. Automated observation equipment deployed by authorities has also recorded instances of short-term clock discrepancies during phenomena occurrences.
From 2020, authorities established multiple observation posts within the Black Desert, attempting to automatically record the phenomenon. However, in most cases, observation equipment malfunctions simultaneously with the object's appearance, or recorded data becomes corrupted. Only a low-frequency acoustic sensor has captured minute, atypical vibrations, but its direct correlation to the phenomenon remains unclear.
This phenomenon tends to occur frequently in specific areas of the Black Desert, particularly regions rich in quartz. A review of past geological records revealed that similar vitrification phenomena were also found, albeit minimally, in strata dating back thousands of years. This suggests the phenomenon is not a recent occurrence but has been periodically happening since ancient times.
Authorities do not rule out the possibility that this incident is caused by an unknown physical phenomenon yet to be explained, or by extraterrestrial technology. While tracking in the vast desert environment is extremely challenging, authorities continue to prioritize information gathering and analysis.

Witness Testimony
Witness A (Patrol Officer)Suddenly, the sky brightened. There was no sound at all. A giant silver disc slowly moved above us. My radio died, and time felt like it stopped. I was too scared to move.
Witness B (Geologist, anonymous)I encountered it by chance during a survey. A bluish-white light hovered a few meters above the ground. The sand beneath the light seemed to be melting. When I came to, several hours had passed, but the light was gone.
Witness C (Truck Driver)I was stopped at night due to a breakdown when I saw a strange light in the distance. It moved silently, with incredible speed, like a falling star. My truck wouldn't start, and after a while, I managed to restart it, but my clock was off.
Kyu's Analysis
The physical traces and temporal perception distortion are inexplicable by current science. The suggested ancient continuity demands continued investigation.
