Case No. #1202
Periodic Localized Gravitational Anomaly and Unidentified Crystalline Structure Generation Incident in the Pamir Mountains, Tajikistan
Summary
Since July 15, 2023, a specific area in Tajikistan's Pamir Mountains, at an altitude of approximately 4,000 meters, has experienced frequent, periodic gravitational anomalies. This phenomenon is accompanied by a perceived alteration where objects temporarily become buoyant or extremely heavy, along with silent atmospheric pressure fluctuations and the ephemeral appearance of strange crystalline structures from the ground. Local residents report nausea and loss of balance, and while an investigation by authorities is underway, the mechanism behind the phenomenon remains unexplained. This is a unique incident unexplainable by known geological or meteorological phenomena.
Details
On July 15, 2023, nomads in a plateau area approximately 4,100 meters above sea level in the Murghab District of Tajikistan's eastern Pamir Mountains reported an unnatural fluctuation in the weight of their livestock. Flocks of sheep reportedly lifted into the air like light stones or became so heavy that adults could not move them. At the same time, translucent crystalline structures were observed appearing instantly on nearby rock faces and the ground, faintly glowing before disappearing within minutes.
Subsequently, similar reports emerged from multiple locations within the same region. The phenomenon occurs irregularly, not at fixed times, but tends to concentrate with a frequency of approximately once every two weeks. Local residents have long called this area "the place where spirits move rocks," believing it could be appeased with specific rituals. Authorities reviewing historical records discovered scattered entries in geological survey reports from the Soviet era in the 1960s, describing similar "unexplained weight fluctuations" and "appearances of transparent minerals."
Initial investigations suspected faint seismic activity or localized geomagnetic fluctuations, but geological sensors showed no anomalies. However, after installing gravimeters and infrasound sensors, gravitational fluctuations of up to 0.5 G and extremely subtle air pressure waves below 0.1 Hz, imperceptible to humans, were detected during the phenomena. These waves exhibited a pattern suggesting radiation from specific points, independent of surrounding weather conditions or topography.
Sampling the crystalline structures proved exceedingly difficult. Their rapid appearance and disappearance, coupled with their tendency to rapidly evaporate upon touch, made collection into containers impossible. Only by instant cooling with a special liquid nitrogen spray could microscopic remnants be secured. Analysis of these remnants indicated a composition different from known elements and an extremely unstable structure. This unstable substance's potential connection to the temporary gravitational distortion and air pressure fluctuations emerged.
Authorities established an observation base equipped with automated surveillance cameras and multiple sensors. However, during phenomenon occurrences, some observation instruments suffered unexplained malfunctions or communication failures, hindering the acquisition of crucial video records and detailed data. Instances of momentary power supply interruptions were also confirmed, causing confusion among investigators. Even after the observation base was established, the periodicity of the gravitational fluctuations persisted, and their scale showed an increasing trend.
Health surveys of nearby residents reported symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, nausea, and loss of balance during the phenomena, with some complaining of fatigue lasting for several days. These symptoms are similar to the effects of infrasound or rapid barometric changes on the human body, but the scale is unprecedented for normal meteorological events. Authorities are currently working to elucidate the origin and mechanism of the phenomenon, but it remains difficult to explain within the framework of known physical laws.

- September 5, 2023An observation base was established, but equipment malfunctions occurred during phenomena.
Witness Testimony
Witness A (Nomad)It was unbelievable. I thought the sheep would fly. Big rocks that I usually couldn't move became light enough for a child. But the next moment, they became so heavy they seemed to sink into the ground.
Investigator B (Geology Specialist)Our gravimeters showed anomalous readings unlike anything we've ever experienced. Gravity dramatically increases and decreases periodically in specific locations. The simultaneously detected infrasound exhibits patterns entirely different from any known natural phenomenon.
Kyu's Analysis
Unidentified physical phenomenon. Inexplicable within existing scientific frameworks. Authorities maintain long-term surveillance.
