At 03:22 on August 13, 2018, Ahmad Al-Khalifi (pseudonym), a nomadic herder traveling through the Dhofar Governorate desert, observed a luminous object of a regular octahedron shape, approximately 15 meters in side length, stationary on the ground in the distance. The object pulsed with a deep crimson light and was nearly silent, yet a disturbing low-frequency sound at specific frequency bands intermittently resonated, according to his testimony. Approximately 15 minutes later, the object ascended vertically and disappeared silently into the night sky.
At the incident site, within a roughly 20-meter diameter area where the luminous object was presumed to have been stationary, the sand was found to be abnormally vitrified. This vitrified material differs from that typically caused by lightning strikes or meteor impacts, possessing a uniform and unnatural structure, as if melting and recrystallization occurred extremely rapidly and locally.
