At 03:15 on October 17, 2021, Mr. Erdenebaatar (52), a nomadic herder in the Tsagaan Gol Valley, noticed that his makeshift seismograph was recording periodic vibrations. Simultaneously, he visually confirmed a faint green light intermittently emanating from deeper within the valley. That night, his flock of sheep exhibited an abnormal state of excitement, clustering together while bleating.
From the following day onwards, similar vibrations and luminescence continued nightly for several hours before sunrise and after sunset. Neighboring nomads also reported similar observations, with multiple testimonies substantiating the phenomenon. Local authorities initially attributed it to minor seismic activity or geothermal signs, but the frequency and regularity of the vibrations were noted to differ from typical earthquakes.
The Bureau's investigation team was dispatched only after a series of livestock deaths and the nomads abandoning their usual pastures.
