Case No. #1204
Periodic Indistinct Singing, Psychological Disorientation, and Material Disappearance Incident in an Abandoned Village in Masovian Voivodeship, Poland
Summary
Since 2017, an abandoned village named Wieszawka in Poland's Masovian Voivodeship has experienced periodic occurrences of indistinct singing accompanied by specific infrasound frequencies. Individuals exposed to this sound report severe anxiety and temporary disorientation. Furthermore, items left in the village, including some surveillance equipment installed by the authorities, have vanished without a trace. These phenomena involve elements that defy physical laws and remain unexplained.
Details
In the early hours of October 12, 2017, a hiker passing near Wieszawka, an abandoned village located close to Bydgoszcz, reported hearing a peculiar, singing-like sound and subsequently experiencing severe disorientation. He described it as a 'sensation of something singing in my head, with my consciousness fading.' Local police conducted an investigation but found no particular anomalies.
Following this, similar reports emerged on May 22, 2018, and February 14, 2019, prompting the authorities to officially record the incidents. A local legend persists in this abandoned village, recounting the sudden disappearance of its inhabitants during World War II. The legend speaks of people being lured by seductive voices echoing from the forest each night, only to vanish without a trace.
From March 2019, the authorities established a long-term surveillance system, deploying high-sensitivity acoustic sensors, motion sensors, and infrared surveillance cameras around the village. The system periodically recorded infrasound within the 30Hz to 50Hz range during the late night and early morning hours. However, the source of this infrasound could not be identified.
Interestingly, intermittent data loss occurred in the recorded audio whenever the infrasound reached its peak. Concurrently, several incidents of installed GPS trackers, geomagnetic sensors, and small weather observation instruments vanishing without any physical signs of intrusion were reported. Only slight disturbances in the ground layers remained at the sites of disappearance.
Surveillance camera footage occasionally captured fleeting, amorphous, misty shadows drifting within the village at the same time the infrasound was recorded. These shadows lacked clear definition but appeared to subtly distort the surrounding light as they moved. This situation presents challenges for explanation using existing physical phenomena.
The authorities do not rule out the possibility that infrasound at specific frequencies could affect human auditory systems and induce psychological disorientation. However, the physical disappearance of objects, the gaps in recorded data, and the appearance of amorphous shadows cannot be explained solely by conventional acoustic phenomena or psychological factors. No vanished items have ever been recovered.
This series of phenomena remains entirely unexplained. The mechanism by which specific infrasound influences human psychology and furthermore causes the physical disappearance of objects remains obscure. The authorities plan to continue long-term surveillance on-site and gather new evidence.
The connection between the legend of the village's former inhabitants vanishing and the current incidents remains unconfirmed. However, the possibility that historical context influences current phenomena cannot be ruled out. Investigations considering the potential involvement of localized spacetime distortions are required.
Timeline
- Early Hours, Oct 12, 2017Hiker hears strange singing in Wieszawka village, becomes disoriented. Local police investigate but find no anomalies.
- Late Night, May 22, 2018Similar reports of singing and disorientation emerge; authorities begin recording the incident.
- Mar 2, 2019Authorities install high-sensitivity acoustic and motion sensors, and infrared surveillance cameras in the village, establishing a monitoring system.
- 03:17, Apr 11, 2019An installed GPS tracker vanishes. Surveillance cameras record a misty shadow. Infrasound detection and recording data loss are confirmed.
- 01:45, Jan 19, 2020A geomagnetic sensor vanishes. Similar infrasound, shadows, and recording data loss are documented. Disappearances and phenomena continue intermittently thereafter.
Witness Testimony
Witness A (Hiker)The sound from deep in the forest was like singing, yet not a human voice. It was a jarring, unpleasant resonance that made me lose sense of where I was and what time it was. It felt like I was being pulled into something.
Investigator C (Acoustic Analysis)The infrasound waveform is clear, but the crucial audio data is blank. It's as if someone is deliberately deleting information. The phenomenon of equipment disappearing without physical traces cannot be explained by conventional understanding.
Kyu's Analysis
The infrasound at specific frequencies transcends psychological effects to impact physical phenomena. The disappearance of objects is not mere theft. This case remains unsolved.
