Summary

In the early hours of August 19, 2018, air traffic controllers and multiple civilian aircraft pilots observed an unidentified rhomboid light object over Great Bear Lake in Canada's Northwest Territories. This object moved silently just above the lake surface, causing temporary communication outages and instrument malfunctions on nearby aircraft. Authorities' radar recorded anomalous tracks for several minutes before the object rapidly ascended and vanished without a trace. This incident remains unexplained, representing another instance of inexplicable aerial phenomena in the vast, uncharted wilderness of the polar regions.

Details

Around 02:30 on August 19, 2018, the pilot of civilian cargo flight "North Star 307," flying over Great Bear Lake in Canada's Northwest Territories, visually identified an anomalous light object moving below the aircraft. It was a rhomboid object gliding slowly just above the lake surface, exhibiting characteristics distinct from conventional aircraft or meteorological phenomena. The pilot reported that the object emitted no sound whatsoever, moving as if to blend into the surrounding darkness.

At the same time, two other civilian aircraft in the vicinity, as well as the Yellowknife Air Traffic Control Center, detected a similar light object on radar. Multiple pilots testified that the object was silent and executed rapid accelerations and decelerations deemed impossible for conventional aircraft. In this region, indigenous oral traditions describe similar light object sightings in the past by local aboriginal communities living by the lake, suggesting the possibility that this was not an isolated misidentification.

Authorities immediately initiated an investigation, meticulously analyzing radar records from the airspace. While anomalous tracks were indeed confirmed on radar, the records were discontinuous and of low resolution, preventing the precise determination of the object's shape or dimensions. Furthermore, discrepancies in the exact time of sightings and the object's color tone were noted among multiple reports.

All eyewitnesses reported experiencing temporary static or outages in their communication equipment as the light object approached. However, electromagnetic wave records recovered from black boxes proved indecipherable, preventing the identification of the source or mechanism of the anomalous electromagnetic interference. No physical traces were found on the lake surface or surrounding land. Recovered samples and evidence showed no consistency with known materials.

Records from the air traffic control center revealed that the object executed an anomalous vertical ascent at an extreme speed just before disappearing from radar. This speed was deemed unattainable by conventional aviation technology. The object ascended from 20,000 feet to 40,000 feet in just a few seconds before completely vanishing.

This incident has been classified as an unexplained aerial phenomenon by authorities, occurring in the vast wilderness of northern Canada. Its origin, propulsion, and purpose remain entirely unknown. Authorities continue to lack a clear explanation for the source of the electromagnetic interference or the discontinuity of the radar records.

Witness Testimony

North Star 307 PilotThere was a rhomboid shape, almost like a shadow, gliding silently over the dark lake. No sound at all. When my instruments started acting up, it just vanished. Like a phantom.
Yellowknife Air Traffic ControllerIt suddenly appeared on radar, moving erratically. When I queried, multiple pilots reported it simultaneously, causing confusion. Then, it simply vanished as if it had never existed.
Witness C (Fisherman)In the early morning, I saw a strange light across the lake. It was rhomboid, moving slowly, but then suddenly shot up into the sky. I've never seen anything like it.

Kyuu's Analysis

The consistency between electromagnetic interference and multiple visual sightings strongly suggests a physical reality to this phenomenon, not merely a misidentification. The Bureau must strengthen continuous monitoring and information gathering.
