Details
At 3:30 PM on July 19, 2023, in a vast forest located northeast of Poznań city, a group of university students on a hike reported the first anomaly. While resting, several of them simultaneously testified to 'feeling multiple gazes.' Although no one was visible, footsteps resembling someone treading on grass continued for several paces directly behind them before abruptly stopping. Their mobile phones temporarily lost signal, and compass apps displayed abnormal directions.
Subsequently, similar reports reached the authorities. Local residents and forest workers testified to experiencing 'footsteps approaching from off-path' and 'a constant sensation of being followed' during dawn and dusk. These reports particularly concentrated around the former military training ground remnants scattered within the forest. A review of official records revealed scattered reports of inexplicable disappearances and psychological disturbances in this area during wartime.
The Authority's investigation team entered the site in early August 2023, commencing attempts to collect environmental data, including acoustic, electromagnetic, and thermal distribution. The results indicated intermittent recordings of very faint, low-frequency sounds at specific times that could not be explained by known natural phenomena. Furthermore, several investigators experienced malfunctions of high-precision GPS devices and noise generation in communication equipment. However, in none of these anomalous events was any visual object confirmed.
As the investigation progressed, several investigators themselves experienced 'a chilling sensation as if touched' and 'an intense gaze from behind' at specific points in the forest. Despite no reaction from measurement instruments, the physical sensations were distinct. To rule out psychological factors, they continued the investigation using a blind method, changing locations, but the same sensations recurred only in specific areas. The possibility of an invisible entity directly interfering with humans at specific times and locations has been suggested, but its nature and purpose remain entirely unknown. The Authority is proceeding with verifying whether this phenomenon is linked to specific weather conditions or geomagnetic fluctuations. Regular interviews with local residents are also continuing.
At present, it is difficult to encompass all these phenomena with physical explanations.
